Sneered at by purists back in the day, and sidelined ever since, jazz fusion is being rediscovered and rehabilitated by a new generation of players and singers. From the early influences of jazz fusion like Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock to the current trends. This online class will highlight the vocal pioneers of the genre from the late 1960’s and introduce their influences on vocalists through the present time. Required listening, historical information, exploration of fusion vocal style and vocal repertoire will be the main focus. Open to anyone and singers are encouraged to learn at least one song (with prepared track).
